A sacred world arranged around stillness.
At the centre of the composition sits a Jina in meditation — completely still, while an entire sacred universe unfolds around him.
Moving outward, the work is built in concentric layers filled with inscriptions, smaller figures, symbolic forms and divine attendants. The outer border expands this further into a remarkable assembly of individually rendered figures, each distinguished by colour, posture and attributes.
The strength of the painting lies in this contrast: extraordinary visual complexity surrounding a single quiet centre.
In Jain art, works like this are not simply decorative. They bring together meditation, sacred order and devotional imagery within one carefully structured composition, rewarding the viewer the longer they look.
