Stillness at the centre. An entire sacred world around it.
At the heart of this composition sits a Jina in complete meditation. From that quiet centre, the painting expands outward through concentric circles filled with inscriptions, smaller figures, symbols and narrative scenes.
Around the mandala is an elaborate assembly of divine and protective figures, each distinguished through different colours, gestures and attributes. The work is meant to be looked at slowly every section reveals another layer of Jain visual tradition.
What makes the composition especially striking is the contrast between the complexity of the world surrounding the Jina and the absolute stillness at its centre.
It is not simply a decorative mandala. It is a visual expression of spiritual focus — placing meditation at the centre of a much larger sacred order.
