This artwork brings the Ganesh Chalisa to life through a series of hand-painted scenes, turning the devotional verses into a visual narrative.

Rather than depicting Ganesh in a single form, the composition shows him across many different moments and stories. Each section illustrates another aspect of Ganesh — as the remover of obstacles, the giver of wisdom and prosperity, the protector of devotees and the deity invoked at the beginning of every auspicious journey.

Look closely and the individual panels begin to read almost like pages of a manuscript. Ganesh appears with different figures, deities, animals and settings, while the written verses run alongside the imagery, connecting each scene to the Chalisa.

His familiar attributes appear throughout the work — the modak, lotus, weapons and his vahana, the mouse — while different episodes reveal the many qualities associated with him.

What makes the artwork special is that the Ganesh Chalisa is not simply written onto the painting; it is narrated through imagery. Dozens of smaller compositions come together to tell one larger story of Ganesh, making it a work that can be viewed from a distance and then discovered scene by scene up close.
